Where to Park

Quick note: Tour guides and Parking Lot attendants are no longer regulated by the park system, and there are a TON of people dressed like park employees telling you where to park, before you get to the actual park. They charge more, and they are also a good hike from the park entrance (where the actual hike should begin!). They are aggressive, will stand in the middle of the street and try to guide you to park there. Do not park there! Drive slowly past the imitators.

Things to know about parking:

  • There are two places to park very near the park.
  • Parking should be at or around $10 for the entire day (until 6:00pm). The park is open 7:00am – 4:00pm, so you will have time for dinner in town after if you’d like.
  • Parking at either of the places marked below are reputable and guarded for your security.

Directions: Head South on Road 618 toward the park. You’ll pass El Avion (great bar/restaurant literally built around a cargo plane). The park is about 2km from El Avion, and the two best parking lots are about 30m from the park entrance. With the beach on your right side, you will pass a Super Joseth market, and then two two-story restaurants on your left side (Marlins and Buru) across the street from either other. You can

  1. Turn left between these two restaurants to go to  “Parking for Manuel Antonio National Park” or
  2. Go straight past these two restaurants to park across Cafe Del Mar, immediately prior to the path that goes directly to the park entrance. If you miss this parking lot, no worries, the road ends in a U-turn and will allow you to approach the parking lot again.
